Christmas Time

So it's just about Christmas Time and we're once again going up north to visit the friends and family. We miss everyone all the time and it'll be good when we can move back up there.

Mary is still rolling over and putting her but in the air trying to crawl. She blows rasberries and giggles a little now. We tried to give her some rice cereal and her tummy didn't like it so we'll hold off on it for now. She liked eating it and gulped it down but she couldn't digest it very well and was pretty fussy for a couple of hours. So we'll try again in a few weeks. She still won't drink from a bottle so we can't leave her with anyone for too long.

Me and rich had to miss his christmas party at work because we didn't have anyone who could watch Mary. That was sort of a bummer but she's still pretty little and I don't want to leave her with anyone she doesn't know. Next year we'll be able to go out during Christmastime because she'll be a year and a half by then. And she'll definately be on solid foods. See everyone in a few days. Mary Christmas!

Not crawling yet

Mary's not crawling yet but she is only 4 months old. She rolls over still all the time and is learning to put her but in the air. So she's learning to get into crawling position. She squeals a lot and now she's reaching for things and grabbing things. She likes to hold onto her foot all the time too.

Some Christmas pictures are up of her on the picture website. And we're going to take more pictures when we go up to northern california for Christmas on the 21st. We're pretty excited to go up for christmas. Me and Mary are going to fly up while rich brings the car and the dog. Mary hates riding in the car and last time we went up there she screamed half the way. So this time I hope the traveling will be easier. We'll let everyone know when she starts to move about. Soon I'm sure she'll be scooting around.

The Holidays

The holidays are just around the corner and we're going up to northern california to visit with friends and family. Then we're going up to oregon to see more friends and family. Rich got some time off work to spend with us so we have a lot to be thankful for.

Mary's learning to sit up on her own. She's not quite there yet. She grabs for things now and likes her stuffed animals. She doesn't have a favorite yet but I'm sure she will. She babbles a lot and hates to be in her car seat. When we take her out sometimes I have to sit in the back and entertain her while rich drives.

She sticks her toungue out a lot when she smiles and she's learned to make the razzing sound with her lips and toungue. She does it all the time. It's quite funny. She still likes to stare at the celing fan. Mostly she does it in the morning when she wakes up. She hasn't started sucking her thumb yet but she does put her whole hand in her mouth and suck on that. Well it's time to eat breakfast. See ya'll again soon.

Still rolling over

Mary rolls over all the time now. Whenever we put her on her back she rolls onto her tummy automatically. She's sleeping less now and tries to stay awake and not take her naps. She'll get real cranky and start speaking loudly. She doesn't really cry that much, just babbles really loud. She went through a growth spurt last week but I'm not sure how big she is. She got weighed and measured at the doctors, but that was a few weeks ago. She's big enough to sit in her Bumbo. It's the green seat you see in her pictures. Apparently they got recalled because some kids were able to get out of them and hit their heads on the floor. However, Mary does fine in it and Carol Ann thouroughly tested it for us, so we're not to worried of Mary hopping out of it anytime soon.

She hasn't hit any more mildstones in the last couple of weeks. But she is eating her hand more now. I think she wants to find and suck her thumb but she hasn't yet. Hopefully she doesn't become a thumb sucker because I've heard that, that habit is hard to break. Also, her hair is getting longer. It'll be neat to see how it changes color. Her eyes are still blue so they may stay that way.

Even though Mary's not a ham, we have got a few good pictures of her smiling. Check them out on the website. http://babycurras.bravehost.com
We took some pictures for Halloween. We tried to dress M&M up as a pumpkin but she hated it. So we did get some pitures of her screaming. (The halloween picutures are under the
M&M 2 months photo album.) And we went to Wal-mart this month and got a few professional pictures taken. I'm not sure how they look, but it was very hard to get Mary to smile. She was hungry and they took a long time before they got us in. The pictures don't come in for another couple of weeks. I'll try to scan them into the computer when I get them.

Well Happy Holidays and we hope to see the family in the bay area (and Sacramento) at Thanksgiving.

Love, Mel and M&M (and of course Rich too)

Rolling over

Hi everyone,

Mary is rolling over now. She started rolling over when she was just a month old but it was more by accident. Now she rolls over all the time and it seems to be her favorite position. She can roll from her back to her tummy and back onto her back. She is also verbalizing a lot and let us know when she's displeased with something. She seems to be a thinker and doesn't really like to play it up for the camera. It's hard to get a good piture of her. (Check out more pictures of her on the picture website.)

Her friend Carol Ann is a ham for the camera and likes to play it up. But Mary seems to be thinking about how to figure stuff out. But they're already friends and now that Mary can see better, they seem to like spending time together. We get to go to Oregon, where Carol Ann lives, to visit for Thanksgiving. It'll be neat to see them together. That's it for now.

Update

Hello

So it's been a while since I've been able to post a mesasge to update everyone on M&M. I've been told by relatives that I need to make sure that I post updates because everyone is interested in how she's doing. So I don't neglect my duties I'll try and post at least 3 times a month.

She's 2 1/2 months old now. New pictures are up on the picture website and she's getting bigger. She's 23 inches and 12 lbs 5 oz. as of 10/16/07 her last doctor's visit. That's the appointment where they give her first vaccinations. She was a little fussy for a couple of days and now she's doing better. I guess the shots can make them feel icky. Me and rich decided not to give her all of the vaccines right now but we did give her 5 main ones.

She squeals in delight now and talks a lot. Mostly she bable though when she's complaining about something she doesn't like. And if you can get to her in time, then she won't bust out crying. She's a happy baby and gets excited when dad comes home and she can take a nap on him.

We just got back from a week trip up to northern california where everyone could see her. Most people saw her for the first time. We'll be back around Thanksgiving for a couple of days in Sacramento. We probably won't be able to see everyone then, but hopefully we will around Christmas time when we come up again.

Well I hope this updates updates you to everything. I'll try to post more often now that the rough beginning is over. Talk to you then

Hello All

Here we are and Mary Michelle is almost a month old. We added some more pics in the photo album. She's doing well and she still likes to sleep a lot (like her mom.) And when she's awake she's pretty relaxed and goes with the flow (like her dad.) So far she got all of our good qualities and no bad ones yet.

On Sunday she started smiling at people. She doesn't smile all the time yet but she does break one out every so often. She can also roll over now and lift her head up off the floor when she's on her tummy. The doctor said she looks good and she's over 8 lbs now. Well that's the update for now.

She's Arrived

So here she is! Our little Mary Michelle Grace. She was born on Aug 3rd at 8:35 pm weighing 7lbs. 9oz at 19.5 inches. She's a cutie pie. I went into labor on thursday Aug 2nd during the day. (It's actually hard to figure out exactly when labor started because I'd been having contractions for weeks.) I went in that night at 11pm to the hospital to be induced and I was already at 3cm! So I got some pitosin and it began. Then I stalled labor friday night from noon to 6pm or so at about 6 cm. The doctor's didn't think that I'd be able to go all the way and we're talking C-section! But then it took off and at about 7:40 pm I was told it was time to push. And here she is!

We had a little scare after delivery though. She came out crying but when she went to take her second breath, she blew a little hole in her lung called a pneumothorax. So her right lung collapsed and they had to rush her off to the ICU. The doctor had to remove the air in the sac surrounding her lung with a needle and she had to spend two days in the ICU while the lung healed. Mary pulled through though and boy do her lungs work great now.

We've already found out that she loves to sleep and will sleep through anything, even eating. She hates being woken up to eat.

Went to the Doctors

I went in to see the doctor today (actually it's a nurse but whatever. the person who examines you and lets you know stuff.) And she said that I was 2 cm dialated. Yaaaa! So I'll be going in tonight at 11pm and they'll give me some gel that's supposed to help things along. So If something happens ya'll will be getting phone calls in the middle of this night. But if nothing happens then we'll just talk to you later. But wish us luck. It could be our lucky day!

Not here yet

So it's July 31 and the baby has not arrived yet. The doctor says that first baby's are often late. I was hoping to be an exception but I guess not. I've had tons of false labor but nothing that would kick the baby out. So I'm going to ask the doctor to try induction and they don't do inductions at my hospital until 10 days past the due date. That would make it August 6th. Hopefully the induction will work if not then they'll be more waiting. My next doctor's appointment is on Thursday so I'll know more about what I can do then. Pray for the labor to start soon. Maybe if everyone wishes for it in the next day it'll happen.

Apparently not that close

So I guess labor isn't as close as I thought it was weeks ago. All the contractions I've had have been false labor and nothings really happening to indicate that she will be here anytime soon. Um so I guess it's the waiting game now. Wish me luck!

It's getting close

So I started having contractions last week. Alas they were braxton hicks contractions. And I've been having them off and on all week. And today I was having contractions for hours but not the baby delivering kind. They're supposed to be 5 min apart and you must be in unbearable pain for them to put you into labor. So we're still waiting. Wish us luck tonight.

Nursery Finished

We finally finished the nursery today! My best friend's staying with us for a few months and so is her little girl. So in addition to Mary Michelle's name we put up her name too on the wall. Her name is Carol Ann Grace. So she can use the crib too. It'll be a few months before Mary can use the crib anyways. Take a look at the pictures on this site.

Labor is near

We've been busy getting the baby's room ready and when it's finished we'll post pictures of it up on the website. Rich has been working extra hard at work and at home to get things ready and I've been nesting. Which basically means cleaning and cleaning and making everything perfect around the house. It's one of the signs that tells you that labor is nearing. The baby dropped a couple of weeks ago so that's a promising sign.

Don't forget to sign the guestbook. Everyone should sign it and after everyone has I want to print it out and put it in her keepsake box.

When the big date happens we'll give everyone a call to let them know what's going on. Sorry we didn't get everyone the website address sooner. But I guess she hasn't arrived yet so it's not too late.

Registration For Baby Stuff

Don't forget to look at all of the websites we're registered at. Target.com, Amazon.com, and BabysRUs.com. They all have different stuff on them. Also you should be able to go into the stores and buy the stuff if you'd rather not purchase the items online.

Baby Shower Invites

Baby Shower invitations will be going out soon. Don't worry you haven't missed them. And for everyone who did not recieve an invitation to the baby showers, most likely you live far and away. I didn't want people to feel as if they had to come. But everyone should be recieving a birth announcement when that happens. (Hopefully mid July!)
